Subsidized EAS Reports - 2012 to 2020

I have been doing some work with a few essential air service airports and thought I would share some data I found interesting.  From 2012 to 2020, $2.34 billion has been spent on Essential Air Service contracts or an average of $259.5 million annually.

At the beginning of this period (2012) Great Lakes was the largest carrier in term of receiving subsidy contracts - valued at $61.2 million, flying mostly 19-seat turboprop aircraft.  They have been replaced by SkyWest Airlines flying regional jets with a contract value of $121.8 million in 2020.

In terms of airports, Presque Isle/Houlton, ME (PQI) has received a total of $44.3 million is EAS contract dollars from 2012 to 2020.  This is followed by Greenbrier/White Sulphur Springs/Lewisburg, WV and Sidney, MT.
